"The SpongeBob Musical: Youth Edition"

Plunge into this stunning all-singing, all-dancing, dynamic stage show! When the citizens of Bikini Bottom discover that a volcano will soon erupt and destroy their humble home, SpongeBob and his friends must come together to save the fate of their undersea world. With lives hanging in the balance and all hope lost, a most unexpected hero rises up. The power of optimism really can save the world!


  • Casting for this production may be selective and it is possible not all applicants will receive a casting offer.
  • All cast members must sign and adhere to a code of conduct that will be included in the cast offers. 
  • Understudy roles may be included in cast offers.

🎭 "The SpongeBob Musical - Youth Edition" Workshop – An All-Inclusive Theatre Experience!

 We’re thrilled to offer your student the opportunity to participate in our "The SpongeBob Musical - Youth Edition"  Full Production Workshop—a comprehensive musical theatre experience packed with value, training, friends, fun and unforgettable memories! For one all-inclusive fee, your performer will receive over 58 hours of rehearsals, instruction, and live performance opportunities… and we take care of everything... no volunteering required! 


💡 Here’s what’s included:

  • Twice-Weekly Rehearsals (Mon/Weds evenings) for 7 weeks, plus a full Tech Week and four live performances over one weekend.
     
  • Expert Instruction from a professional theatrical creative team including: Director, Assistant Director, Music Director, Choreographer, Stage Manager, Producer, and Costumer.
     
  • Custom-Fitted Costumes provided for each cast member—no sewing or sourcing required.
     
  • Professional Video Projection Design to bring the world of Chicago to life with stunning, cinematic backgrounds.
     
  • Theatrical Lighting and Sound integrated for a polished, high-production-value show.
     
  • An Official Headshot included for every performer— ideal for professionalism, confidence, and helping to secure the next role! 


  • An Official Cast T-Shirt included for every performer—perfect for tech week and cast photos.
     
  • Tech Sunday Pizza served during our extended rehearsal day on August 17th.

Auditions for "The SpongeBob Musical - Youth Edition" open for Ages 8-13 - June 28th (10am-12pm)!


Rehearsals and performances will be in-person at the Studio on

Mondays and Wednesdays  5:30-8pm.  

Starting Wednesday, July 2nd


Performances will be August 22-24

 Students are required to purchase and bring to tech week/shows his/her own approved microphone.  Links to purchase will be emailed upon acceptance of role.

 
Production Workshop Tuition is $565, payable upon acceptance of a role - with option for payment in two installments.


(The Studio is offering a 5% workshop tuition discount to active private lesson students, siblings and to those who refer a new student provided the new 

student accepts a role. *Discounts not to be combined.)


 Please note not all performers will be required at all rehearsals. The sequential rehearsal schedule will be released shortly after casting.

 🧭 Narration

  1. French Narrator (Spoken)
    Whimsical, French-accented guide who opens and closes the story. Needs distinct narration voice and clarity.
     

🧽 Principal Roles

  1. SpongeBob SquarePants (Range: A2–G4)
    Joyful, determined, and endlessly positive. Strong singer with comedic and physical acting skills.
     
  2. Gary the Snail (Non-singing)
    SpongeBob’s pet. Often silent but expressive. May be portrayed through movement, puppetry, or mime.
     
  3. Patrick Star (Range: A2–A4)
    SpongeBob’s best friend. Lovable, clueless, and sincere. Requires warmth, timing, and vocal clarity.
     
  4. Squidward Q. Tentacles (Range: A2–F#4)
    Grumpy and dramatic. Secretly craves stardom. Must handle comedic delivery and stylized movement/tap.
     
  5. Sandy Cheeks (Range: A3–E5)
    Brave, brainy Texas squirrel. Proud scientist and martial artist. Strong vocals and commanding stage presence.
     
  6. Mr. Krabs (Range: D3–B4)
    Gruff, money-obsessed owner of the Krusty Krab. Pirate-like voice, comic timing, and parental depth.
     
  7. Sheldon J. Plankton (Range: E3–E4)
    Small villain with a big plan. Fast-paced lyrics, comedic energy, and villainous charm.
     
  8. Karen the Computer (Range: A3–F#4)
    Plankton’s sarcastic, tech-savvy computer wife. Dry humor, excellent diction, and cool energy.
     
  9. Pearl Krabs (Range: Bb3–E5)
    Mr. Krabs’ teenage daughter. Strong belter with teen diva attitude and comedic flair.
     
  10. Perch Perkins (Spoken / Optional Singing)
    High-energy news anchor. Needs confidence, projection, and quick delivery.
     
  11. Mayor of Bikini Bottom (Spoken / Optional Singing)
    Frazzled town leader. Strong actor who can play overwhelmed but sincere.
